Agreed in writing, delivered in full

We begin every engagement with five commercial terms you can hold us to, written down and signed before any work starts.

Buccaneers sailed under written articles. So do we.

Articles of engagement

Agreed with every client before work starts

  1. The baseline is agreed before we start

We fix the starting point with your finance team, in writing, so there is never a debate about what counts as a saving.

  2. Savings are measured by you

Your finance team validates every saving against your own ledger. If it does not show up in your numbers, we do not count it.

  3. Our fee follows your results

For cost reduction we are paid a share of verified savings. Where a fixed fee suits the work better, it is agreed up front and does not move.

  4. Scope changes are agreed in writing first

Nothing is added to the work, or to the bill, without your signature. You can stop at the end of any phase.

  5. Your team keeps the know-how

Strategies, templates and tracking tools stay with you when we leave. You should need us less each year, not more.

Confidentiality is covered separately, in Schedule 1, our undertaking on confidentiality.

How a programme runs

Every service follows the same discipline: a signed starting point, work you approve at each stage, and a clear handover. The timetables differ, so pick the one you need.

Six months, category by category. Awards land in waves from around week 10, and savings are tracked from the first one.

Cost reduction, phase by phase

Weeks 1 to 4

Baseline

We assess the current state: your data, contracts and supplier base, plus interviews with the people who rely on them. Together we set objectives and agree the baseline.

  • Spend and contract baseline
  • Stakeholder interviews
  • Opportunity assessment
  • Scoping report and roadmap

Sign-off: baseline and savings target

Weeks 5 to 22

Negotiate

We turn the baseline into results under structured governance, running tenders and negotiations category by category and engaging suppliers on your behalf.

  • Category strategies and specifications
  • Tenders, e-auctions and negotiation
  • Award recommendations side by side
  • Commercial and operational agreements

Sign-off: every supplier award

From the first award, around week 10

Hold

Savings leak when nobody is watching. Contracts are finalised with price controls, suppliers onboarded, and every invoice tracked against the new terms.

  • Price-review and indexation controls
  • KPIs and service levels
  • Supplier onboarding and transition
  • Monthly savings report against your ledger

Sign-off: savings validated by finance

Reporting

What you see every month

One savings report, reconciled to your ledger and set out the way your board already reads. Every line shows the baseline, the new position and whether finance has validated it.

  • Reconciled to your own accounts
  • Validated and pending savings kept apart
  • Reviewed at a monthly steering meeting

Fees

Three ways to engage us

The fee model is agreed before any work starts and written into the engagement letter. We recommend the one that best fits the work, not the one that pays us most.

Shared savings

Paid from results

For cost reduction and mitigation. Our fee is a share of the savings your finance team validates, over a period agreed in advance.

  • No saving, no fee
  • Measured against the signed baseline
  • Paid as savings are realised

Fixed project fee

A price that holds

For capability programmes, spend analytics, responsible sourcing and due diligence. Scope, deliverables and price fixed at the outset.

  • Clear deliverables and dates
  • Staged payments against milestones
  • No surprise extensions

Day rate or retainer

Capacity on call

For procurement as a service. Specialists from two to five days a week, on monthly terms with no recruitment fees or long notice periods.

  • Start within ten working days
  • Scale up or down month to month
  • Transparent timesheets and reporting

Book a spend review

Send us twelve months of supplier spend. Ten working days later you will have a confidential view of where your money goes and where the savings are, at no cost. Tick the box and we will send a mutual NDA before we talk.

  • A senior consultant replies within one working day
  • No cost and no obligation
  • Your data returned or deleted afterwards
